History

Grapevines have been cultivated for over 8,000 years and are among the oldest cultivated plants in human history. Ancient Egyptians cultivated grapes and made wine as early as 3000 BCE. While grape seeds were traditionally considered a byproduct of winemaking and eaten incidentally, their specific use as an herbal extract became prominent in the latter 20th century following research by French scientist Jacques Masquelier.
